The sociology of language and religion : change, conflict and accommodation

The concepts of change, conflict and accommodation have been addressed in other subdisciplines of linguistics such as Social-psychology of language, traditional sociolinguistics, ethnography of communication. Therefore the capacity to engage with these concepts must be a test of this emergent field of scholarship. The essays in the volume demonstrate beyond all doubt that the sociology of language and religion is able to respond in creative ways to the issues that these three concepts throw up.
