Outside modernism : in pursuit of the English novel, 1900-30

This work presents 11 original essays which aim to re-evaluate the range of English novels written between 1900 and 1930, assigned by critics to a space outside modernism. Drawing on critical perspectives as various as postmodernism, feminism, Marxism, queer theory and cultural theory, these essays argue for a new and inclusive context for understanding the development of English fiction in this period.
